Today we celebrated our wonderful staff - enjoying our first Wellbeing Breakfast of this academic year. This event coincided in the weeks of EHCA Appreciation Day and also World Teachers’ Day on the 5th October - and what better way to celebrate than to have one of our early morning get togethers? Staff enjoyed hot drinks, toast and crumpets - and most importantly a little bit of time, before another busy day began, to catch up with colleagues…

On Thursday we celebrated our pupil leavers in a special assembly, where we joined together with their families to look at their achievements and look to the future, thinking about where each of them moves onto as they leave us. It was lovely to say final goodbyes to parents who we have known for many years, and there were some very nice comments made to staff about their children’s times at Newfield and the love, support and learning they have benefitted from here…

Today we treated our staff to a chippy lunch with no expense spared - chips, gravy, peas, curry sauce, bread and butter and as much ketchup, vinegar and salt as they could shake a stick at! We provided cold drinks, and after dinner chocolate mints to make it fancy!

This week has been snowy and icy all over Blackburn, but our amazing premises team spent all day Monday shovelling snow and gritting - and have managed to keep the site clear enough for us to be open all week.
