Bonfire Night

There have been crackling fires and fireworks around school today as we celebrate the lead up to Bonfire Night (not real ones on this occasion)! Ivy class enjoyed a sensory bonfire this afternoon - it looks so real and we were very impressed with teacher Rebecca P making and sharing this fabulous resource! Oak class has loved sitting around the camp fire, exploring autumnal natural items as well as doing some sensory firework art.

In Butterfly class they enjoyed making chocolate apples as a tasty treat and making bonfire pictures with their fingers and real crackling paint!

Bamboo have been learning about the Gunpowder Plot, examining the poem and the history around the story. They enjoyed writing our own poems and creating splat painting to look like firework displays over the Houses of Parliament.

Dolphin class had their very own bonfire extravaganza - they sat by the fire listening to the crackles and watching the flames, listened to and watched our own noisy fireworks, sang traditional songs around the campfire, chose objects from our woodland treasure basket and finished outside by making an amazing ‘fireworks in the night sky’ scene using fluorescent paint!

What a fantastic creative bunch of students and staff, celebrating a traditional British event in style.
