Love & Pancakes

We had a great time in school this week, learning, having fun and spending time doing things we like during Children’s Mental Health Week! TG2 held a Valentine’s friendship brunch which they had organised for their friends at school.

The children took the lead in creating their own invitations and personally invited their friends from other classes to join them. They helped to prepare a lovely meal and thoughtfully set everything up for their guests. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to show kindness and consideration towards others.

This gave the children the chance to mix with different friends, build their confidence, and develop their independence and communication skills in a meaningful, real-life context.

We were especially impressed with their enthusiasm, and the pride they took in hosting their peers.

It was lovely to see them mixing with others, we are very proud of them, and they should feel very proud of themselves.

In TG3 they have been making pancakes - getting ready for Shrove Tuesday next week - and deciding what toppings we wanted. They guys also had a pancake race - it was great fun!

Children in S1 have been enjoying our new sensory therapy room - and one of them had another surprise treat when she joined her friends - students from S9 - and visited our local shop!

We ended the week with a Valentine’s disco - and we hope everyone enjoys Love - and Pancakes- during half term next week!
