RRSA Steering Group 25

Here are some of our RRSA steering group members who met today for our first meeting of the academic year.

The school supports the UNICEF initiative which helps people to understand about the rights that all children have.

During the meeting we named our Rights Respecting School Mascot - Sophie. Sophie will be spending time in the Explorers classes, who will be sending updates of her adventures in class, learning about everyone’s rights.

Sophie has been dropped in E1 Squirrels today!

We discussed our whole school charter and have formed a plan for our first fund raiser for our ‘Love for Kenya’ charity.

You can have a look at the UNICEF Convention on the Rights of the Child - CRC - Rights for all children, here they are in a child friendly version in the Pocket Book of Children’s Rights

All children, all over the world have rights and at Newfield, we work hard as ambassadors to make sure that people know that we have to respect each other’s rights.

Our whole school and class charters are made to help us think about what we can all do to help each other.
