Enriching Curriculum Activities

We love to do lots of different things to provide enriching curriculum activities for our children - all through school we ensure that our learners have new experiences as much as we can! We have been very lucky so far this term.

In S5 everyone enjoyed exploring the different items in our Autumn sensory tuff tray. We did some matching of objects to pictures and did some wonderful sorting and counting. It was really nice looking at all the autumn colours, fruits and vegetables - and of course the leaves!

S3 have been taking part in music lessons. Each week, Bolton Music Service are teaching the students to play an instrument which is a Ukelele. The students have only had two lessons so far but they are really enjoying the sessions and already playing along with the music teacher. As you can see we already have some budding musicians.

Some of our older students in TG3 have been enjoying their CookStars sessions - The boys have really enjoyed getting to know Carrie who comes into school each week and have developed their independence and life skills, following instructions from a new person and getting involved in making food for themselves - an amazing croissant bread pudding!

And finally, we have been able to use our hydro pool to introduce children to floating, walking, splashing, working on their MOVE and physical skills and having an amazing time in the water! It is so nice to have that freedom to move around out of wheelchairs and equipment and develop confidence and independence.
