Jeans for Genes 2025

Today we held our first fundraiser of the year - and one that is very close to our hearts at Newfield - Jeans for Genes Day - who this year is celebrating it’s 30th anniversary!

We all got to wear our jeans and denim outfits (or anything we wanted to!) to school, paying £1 to raise money and awareness of the charity which supports genetic illnesses.

Everyone looked great and lots of classes have been taking part in an art competition to design your own pair of jeans or decorate a jeans for knees T-shirt - winners to be decided on Monday!

Our littlest learners had a great day exploring and looking super cute in denim!

While some of our older learners in S8 have been learning all about DNA and Genes today in celebration of Jeans for Genes day. They have learnt some fun facts, designed their own DNA Helix and baked Jeans for Genes themed biscuits! Well done S8!

We all celebrated in our assemblies where we were given stickers for dancing in our denim!

If you want to donate, please use our unique Jeans for Genes Just Giving link

Update 22/09/25 We’ve raised £250 now and today we chose 3 winners to receive the wristbands from the art competition - Tyler, Zahra and Danish - please see the attached photo and well done to all!
