Explorers Sensory Area

Today our new sensory soft play room has been completed and we were very excited to let the children come in and explore this new space, which will be an invaluable resource for our pupils.

The space includes a dark den, with fibre optic twinkling lights on the ceiling of the den, we have vibrating bumpers, a slide, climbing wall, floor roller, trampette and tactile sound and movement boards.

The room is interactive, with a colour changing wall lights, which pupils can change by rolling a dice and the built in speakers mean we can enjoy different music whilst in the space. The colours aim to create a natural feel, with clouds on the wall, green flooring and grey accents.

This space provides sensory regulation and multi sensory experiences for our pupils. It will be used by our explorers and primary pupils to support their co regulation plans, sensory lifestyles and multi sensory learning throughout the day.

The first few pupils to use it today have had a wonderful time, their faces really lit up as they explored the room. We look forward to more children enjoying the space over the next few weeks.
