NewFest 2025

Today we had our 2nd annual Newfield Festival and what an amazing day! The British weather did exactly what it does for most festivals and was wild, wet and windy - but the rain couldn’t dampen our spirits.

The building was decorated with bunting and festival signage so that we could navigate to the main stage for ‘Wicked’ from Just Imagine; to the Face Painting, the henna and glitter tattoos, the hair braiding, the amazing bubble man, the fire pit outdoor experience, the donkeys - yes real ones! - the sensory chill out zone, tote bag art decorating activity, music man performances and the candy floss stand - expertly run by our deputy Vicki!

Children and staff had come dressed in festival attire and there was lots of colour, rainbows, flowers and wellies!

There was a picnic lunch - enjoyed sheltering from the rain of course - followed by ice creams and sprinkles.

In the afternoon alongside all of the other events, there was a singer who played his guitar and sang live in the hall while everyone danced - it had been planned as an outdoor disco… but we had a brilliant time inside instead!

Huge thanks to everyone involved in the spectacular day - but particularly to Assistant Head Lois, who coordinated and organised the whole event!

Absolutely awesome day! Children and adults alike certainly enjoyed spending time with the beautiful donkeys!! Thanks to all involved! It was amazing!!

What a fantastic day despite the weather. That’s what it is all about .. Everyone coming together and enjoying new experiences - applying new skills in an unfamiliar situation. A huge thank you to everyone for getting in the spirit of things and special thanks to Lois for putting it all together and the excellent preparation and planning which took place. Also a big shout out to all the staff who helped set things up and manned the stations today.
