Today we have enjoyed having author Salma Zaman visit school, as part of BwD Children’s Literary Festival, in conjunction with Blackburn Central Library.
Salma shared sensory stories with our pupils who also enjoyed exploring props linked to the tales.
As well as founding Salma’s Bollywood Academy, Salma has completed her Cert-Ed in teacher training and Special Educational Needs. She is trained in creating and developing inclusive and accessible special educational needs dance workshops and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) including intensive interaction. She previously visited Newfield as part of our 2023 festival.
We were taken on a fascinating adventure full of exotic animals and ended with some Bollywood dancing.
The pupils and staff really enjoyed it and we really didn’t know that we had some fantastic Bollywood dancers in school!
