Many of our families celebrated Eid Ul Ada over the weekend and today we had celebrations in school.
Children and staff had dressed in their best clothes, and there was lots going on, including henna hand painting, colouring, practising using prayer mats, creating Eid artwork, games in the hall and a brilliant disco in the afternoon.
Children had made images of Mount Arafat, and we had even made our own Kaaba - The Kaaba is a cube-shaped structure located within the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and is considered the holiest site in Islam. It’s known as the “House of God” and is the direction Muslims around the world face during their daily prayers. The Kaaba is also the destination of the Hajj pilgrimage, one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
Parents were invited to join us to see the activities in the halls and classes and also enjoy some refreshments.
We all had a lovely day - Eid Mubarak!
