Bikes - showing off Newfield’s latest wheels!

We have been working hard to develop our outside learning provision, and part of this has included acquiring and making more opportunities for children to use bikes.

We now have a number of different types of bikes for use both inside and outside of school.

Some students have also taken part in bikeabililty sessions.

We recently had the delivery of our brand new large ‘Theraplay’ trike. HLTA Aiie along with some other staff received training from the company.

They will be disseminating the training and showing other staff how to use the trike with the pupils.

At the moment a number of students are using the Trike and loving it!

We have also taken delivery of a fabulous fancy new trike that has a wheelchair platform at the front.

Pupils ride the trike in the comfort of their own wheelchairs at the front and experience being pedalled around - it is amazing and we are all very excited to have a go - either pedalling it, or riding at the front of it - what a cool experience!

That’s amazing!! If you ever need someone to ride anyone, I’ll happily volunteer.
